About Us

We are a team of renewable energy professionals who are passionate about the environment, community, and shared social values. Our team is looking for a Junior Project Developer, who is a part of the project development team to support work on solar energy projects (early and late‐stages) in Canada. Some support for wind projects as needed.

Job Description

The Junior Project Developer will work with team members with expertise in renewable energy policy and incentives, real estate, GIS, legal, design, permitting, site preparation, finance and construction. One of the key focuses of the Junior Project Development will be supporting land acquisition, GIS mapping and analysis, and early- and mid-stage permitting applications and organization.

  • Support the development of early-stage and late-stage projects up to construction mobilization. A heavy focus of this task will be on land acquisition support, GIS analysis and mapping, as well as project layout support.
  • Community outreach, public presentations, contract negotiation, and communications across a spectrum of outside partners (landowners, local and state government representatives, community members, suppliers, etc.)
  • Assist construction team as necessary to bring late stage projects into operation through GIS mapping, land contract mapping, and landowner relations.
  • Research and work within local and provincial/ federal legislation, regulations, and policies specific to solar energy development and operation.
  • Coordination with SWEB’s Operations, Legal, and Finance departments as needed to support project development to NTP, including site acquisition, procuring permits, and negotiating agreements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • No work experience required, but beneficial.
  • College or University Degree
  • Additional degrees or certificates are also beneficial
  • Languages: English (fluent) mandatory, French (proficient) beneficial
  • Knowledge: MS Office, ArcGIS, QGIS, other ESRI products, Google Earth (mandatory); beneficial, but not necessary, if there are skills in AutoCAD, SIFT, PCSyst
